The new ICQ Alpha Version for Mac 1.9.0

	Beta Version 1.7.2 of the ICQ End-User Software for Power PC

It is recommended to:

Print this document before you download the installation file so you will be able to read the instructions while installing ICQ: Use your browser's File Menu -> Print command.
Go quickly over the whole page to familiarize yourself with the download steps.

Important: Please save your data before installing the 1.7.2 Beta so you won't lose your contact list. To do it: Rename your ICQ Folder to ICQ OLD. After installing the new version to its own folder, copy the settings folder into the new installation.

Note:
Please note that this time limited free beta version of the ICQ end-user software for PowerPC may not include certain features and functions that may be available on other versions of the ICQ software.

Step 1: Download And Save The Installation File
Please read the entire paragraph before you click the Download button.

Press the Download ICQ link below.
If a Save As File dialog box appears, select a destination folder to save the file to.
If this box didn't appear, you should find the installation file in your default download folder or on your desktop.

The download process should now begin. When it's done, read on.

Download ICQ (v1.7.2)

Step 2: Run The Installation Program

Open the folder where you saved the file into.
Double-click it to start the installation process (Image 1).
Go to step 3, the Registration Instructions.

If you can't find the file and/or you were not prompted to save the file:

Open the File menu.
Select Find
In the dialog box type ICQ.
Press the Find button.
The search process should now begin.
If you find the installer (Image 1) double-click it to run the installation program and go to step 3.

If you see the file ICQ_PPC_Installer.hqx use your favorite compression utility to extract the hqx file.

Step 3: Follow The Registration Instructions

Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Double-click on the ICQ flower icon
Follow the registration instructions which will start the first time you open ICQ. This will register you as an ICQ user on the ICQ servers.
